About Brigands Draw

Hello and thank you for your interest in Brigands Draw , my name is Jim Lee, I am the drummer, one of the lead singers and manager. I'm a Colorado native and have been playing music most of my life. I like to play rock music as much as I like to play country music and have played in various bands covering both styles.

Brigands Draw performs the epic hits from the epic artists that people want to hear, and we play a good mix of country and rock. The songs are chosen for popularity, danceability, and spirited vibrations so people have a good time.

People ask me, where did you come up with the band name? There is actually a great story behind it.

It started in 1891 in Cripple Creek, Colorado with one of the biggest gold rushes in American history. Our family's mountain getaway is up there and I became fascinated with the history of the Cripple Creek area. What was a tiny cattle ranching community became a bustling epicenter in the middle of nowhere when gold was discovered. Cripple Creek went on to become the quintessential wild west cowboy town.

There was a lot of lawlessness and outlaws of the mountain variety were called brigands. A "draw" is a land formation with three sides where water would flow over and out into a lower lying area. Gold is often found in such areas and the old prospecting hole they left made a great bonfire pit.

There is the most beautiful view at the top of the draw and the best spot to sit around the bonfire, watch the sunset, and play music just like they did back when. So I thought Brigands Draw was a fitting name for the ranch and a great name for the band too.
